Use new technologies to improve efficiency
VTU vice-chancellor K. Balaveera Reddy urged the colleges to make
use of new technologies to deliver high quality education and improve
efficiency.
He cited the example of the VTU, which has introduced, initiatives like
e-campus, on-line examinations and satellite based distance education to
improve learning experience for students.
He was speaking at the one-day seminar held on Systems Analysis and Program
Development (SAP) at the Acharya Institute of Management in association with
Deutsche Consultants in the city on Thursday.
Ex-CEO of e-SAP Herbert Schuster gave a talk on the technical aspects of
SAP. He said: "India' is one of the biggest markets for technology and the
second biggest developer of SAP,".
IT secretary Anup Pujari and Principal of Acharya Institute Kiran Reddy were
present.
'Solve CET crisis'
Balaveer Reddy said that the State government must arrive at an agreement
with the COMED-K on seat sharing issue. He said that there was a provision
in the Supreme Court guidelines on seat sharing. The government should make
use of this provision and arrive at a solution keeping in mind the interest
of the students from Karnataka.
